Uber Shuttle sees packed buses as happy fans opt for free, comfortable rides on home match days

Mumbai Indians’ fans are in for another win this week – both on and off the field. With two big home matches coming up on April 17 and April 20, MI Paltan is gearing up to show up in full force again. As they look forward to seeing their favourite cricket stars battle it out, Uber Shuttle is helping them get there in style with free rides across the city.
Introduced this season, the free Uber shuttle service has been running at full capacity — a clear sign that it’s meeting a real need. Fans across Mumbai have embraced the comfort and convenience of pre-reserved, air-conditioned rides to and from the stadium.
“We’ve seen an overwhelming response so far. It’s great to see fans travelling together and arriving without the hassle of having to find parking or search for a ride,” said Snehashish Nag, Head of Strategy, Uber Shuttle. “The energy inside the bus is unbelievable and we’re happy to contribute to the fans’ matchday experience.”
With routes starting from Borivali, Navi Mumbai, Thane, Powai, and Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), the service connects multiple points in the city to Wankhede. Fans can easily pre-book their seats via the Uber app and avoid the usual match day rush.
Even the Uber app is joining in on the spirit — with MI-themed vehicle icons on match days adding to the buzz. Fans can also unlock discounted Uber Premier rides using the promo code ‘MI Paltan’, giving them another reason to smile.
Uber Shuttle, currently operating in Delhi and Kolkata, is being piloted in Mumbai as a daily commute option between residential and commercial hubs.
